Polybutene
Description
Polybutene is a thermoplastic polymer, an alternative to mineral oil.
Polybutene is a polymer with 2-methyl-1-propene, a copolymer of isobutylene and butene. Transparent liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in oil.
Properties of polybutene:
- Moisturizing and softening agent;
- Restores skin elasticity;
- Prevents moisture loss;
- Gives a silky feel on the skin;
- Alternative to mineral oil;
- Prevents pigments from sticking together in decorative cosmetics;
- Improves the spreadability of creams;
- Increases the effectiveness of UV filters in sunscreens.
Functions of polybutene:
