Description

Polybutene is a thermoplastic polymer, an alternative to mineral oil.

Polybutene is a polymer with 2-methyl-1-propene, a copolymer of isobutylene and butene. Transparent liquid, insoluble in water, soluble in oil.

Properties of polybutene:

  • Moisturizing and softening agent;
  • Restores skin elasticity;
  • Prevents moisture loss;
  • Gives a silky feel on the skin;
  • Alternative to mineral oil;
  • Prevents pigments from sticking together in decorative cosmetics;
  • Improves the spreadability of creams;
  • Increases the effectiveness of UV filters in sunscreens.
